Warranty

Kidspecs frames will be replaced for free if broken in the first 30 days, beyond this we charge a fee to supply a new frame and transfer lenses over. Adidas and other frames come with a 1 to 2 year manufacturer's warranty, and our lenses come with a warranty for defects or an incorrect prescription having been placed from what was ordered.

If there are signs of intentional damage we may have to charge for the replaced frame or part.

Damage to nose-peices and straps is not a frame warranty issue, these parts do break at times during normal use and must be replaced. We can send you replacement nose-pieces at minimal cost, which are simply re-inserted with a small screwdriver. Straps are available on our webiste for purchase.

Frames must be returned to us for repair. We cannot refund costs to you from 3rd parties. Most repairs done by a local optometrist would be for minor adjustments to fitting, or replacement of screws etc, and these are your responsibility, but in general the cost would be similar to what postage would be and so may be more convenient for you to manage yourself.

Make sure you have seen the warranty information supplied on the website for each frame type. These fall into 3 groups: Explorer frames have a 1 year limited warranty, we will repair or replace them for a small cost (usually no cost when you have a glasses subsidy) - no more than $20 + postage costs. All other frames have an unlimited warranty for either 1 or 2 years, so if they break they will be repaired or replaced.

Lenses are unfortunately not covered by a warranty outside of actual manufacturing defects. They are vulnerable to scratches, particularly in young children due to the type of lens material used (Safety plastic) and the treatment that they receive. Single or spaced out small scratches do not impair vision.

When there are large numbers of scratches we are happy to replace a lens at cost price as a service to you, we will advise you of that cost before proceding. If your child's prescription changes we will again provide a change at cost price if we supplied the glasses and they are less than 1 year old.
